Support at different stages of development
Children and adolescents may experience emotional and behavioural difficulties alongside changes at home, school or in friendships. Sessions are considered in relation to their developmental stage and individual needs.
Topics may include anxiety, low mood, anger, confidence, family difficulties, bereavement, illness, parental separation and relationships with peers.
A developmentally appropriate approach
Depending on age and needs, activities such as play, drawing and storytelling can provide ways to express feelings and experiences. Family members may also be involved to help understand relationships and the wider context.
The frequency and duration of appointments vary. Please contact the practice to discuss your child’s age, the concerns you wish to address and how an initial meeting can be arranged.
